Can my child attend alone without an accompanying adult?

No, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We hope that this helps to embed the visit into your learning at home. Adults will need to have a ticket to the event as well as their child.

Where do I meet on the day?

Please meet us outside the Engine Rooms on the south-west side of the Bridge at river level, where a member of Tower Bridge staff will meet you. See the map above for the exact location.

What if we are running late on the day?

We aim to start the workshops promptly at the time stated. Please be aware that you may not be allowed entrance to the workshop if you arrive significantly after the time the workshop started.

The learning team can be contacted on 020 7940 8397 if you need to let us know that your journey has been delayed.

What age range are the workshops suitable for?

Our workshops are suitable for children aged 7 – 12. Unfortunately, we cannot accept children under the age of 7, or any younger siblings, on the sessions.

Can a younger sibling attend too?

Unfortunately, it is not possible for younger siblings to attend on the day. Alternative care arrangements will need to be made.

How long does the workshop last?

Our workshops last around 90 minutes. Afterwards, your ticket entitles you to discover Tower Bridge and the Engine Rooms on a self-guided tour at your own pace, so allow extra time for this.

Can I buy food/drinks onsite?

There isn’t a café onsite, so please bring a packed lunch and drinks with you should you require refreshments on your visit.

Is there space to eat lunch inside Tower Bridge?

There is no lunchroom at Tower Bridge. Potters Field Park next door to Tower Bridge is a great place for a picnic.

Does my child need to prepare anything before their visit?

No, your child doesn’t need any prior knowledge of Tower Bridge before attending the workshop. We hope they will enjoy discovering all about London’s defining landmark through the activities in the session itself.

Are there any toilets?

There are toilets in the Engine Rooms on the south side of the Bridge for your use when you arrive at Tower Bridge for your session.

There are also toilets in the South Tower

Accessible toilets can be found in both the South Tower and the Engine Rooms. Please note that these toilets are shared with members of the public and require adult supervision.

How do you cater for children with additional needs?

With advance notice, we can provide tools to support your child’s earning such as resources in large print, braille, coloured overlays and visual stories.

Email us if you wish to discuss any specific needs: learning@towerbridge.org.uk
