The Tower Bridge Learning programme places inclusion at its heart

Developed in collaboration with teachers and students, our dedicated SEND Tour and Workshop take students on a multi-sensory exploration of the Bridge and its history, through the use of objects, costume and stories.

SEND Tour of Tower Bridge

Date: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

Duration: 30-90 mins tailored to your class. Delivered between 10:00-14:00, as best suits you. 

Meeting point: Tower Bridge Engine Rooms

Price: £12.80 per adult | £6.40 per child

Join our Learning team as we explore Tower Bridge through costume, objects and materials on a tailor-made, multi-sensory guided tour.

Pupils will discover the history and mechanics of Tower Bridge and have fun exploring the impressive high-level Walkways and the Victorian Engine Rooms.

We design our SEND tours in collaboration with teachers and students to create a visit everyone will enjoy and benefit from the most, choosing the stories, spaces and stimuli that will best engage all learners.  

Our educators work together with you to ensure every student is able to participate, on their terms. Our educators are also trained in the use of Makaton.

The Victorian Thames

Victorian London was a city bustling with trade from all over the world. Explore stories of the Victorian docks through costume, objects and multi-sensory based activities.

Pupils will discover the relationship between the Thames, Tower Bridge and the evolution of this area in Victorian London.

We design our SEND workshops in collaboration with teachers and students to create a visit everyone will enjoy and benefit from the most, choosing the stories, spaces and stimuli that will best engage all learners.  

Our educators work together with you to ensure every student is able to participate, on their terms. Our educators are also trained in the use of Makaton.  

Cost of session includes an optional facilitated or self-guided tour of Tower Bridge for your group.

FAQs

Do you have Changing Places toilet at Tower Bridge?

No, the nearest changing place toilets are located inside the Tower of London attraction and inside London Bridge Train Station.

Accessible toilets are located in both the Towers and the Engine Rooms, during your visit. 

Where do we meet on the day?

Please meet us outside the Engine Rooms on the south-west side of the Bridge at river level, where a member of Learning Team will meet you.

Do you have parking available for a minibus?

Limited on-street parking is available in the areas around the Bridge. Please see individual bays for timings and charges.

Note: Tower Bridge is a Red Route and there can be no stopping at any time.

Parking restrictions

Can I buy food and drink onsite?

There isn’t a café onsite, so please bring a packed lunch and drinks with you should you require refreshments on your visit. 

SEND groups taking part in a booked tour are provided with a lunchroom at Tower Bridge. 

What if we are running late or arrive early on the day?

We have designed the workshop to ensure that arrival and departure times are flexible and work best to accommodate your students.

Do you charge for additional 1-1 support adults?

No, we do not charge for any additional staff who are providing 1-1 support.

If I need to remove my SEND pupil from the group is this allowed?

Yes, just let the session leader know beforehand.
